Chula Vista — There’s a misconception among parents that if something is important enough, it will get taken care of during a child’s annual doctor visit.
But unfortunately, that’s not the case, said John Rogers, Scripps cardiologist and president of the San Diego Chapter of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association.
Sunday, he and other doctors were scanning teens at Bonita Vista High School for abnormalities that can lead to sudden cardiac arrest.
“Some of these kids are walking time bombs,” Rogers said.
